Moving On

~

Well it is a time for change. I have felt myself growing more and more distant from the animation industry. It is a great thing to be doing these days and gaming is just booming. I just can't find it in myself to be sitting in front of a computer for hours and hours day after day. I really can't see myself doing it for the rest of my life so while I have the chance I might as well see what else I can discover out there.

It is time to leave Vancouver and head back to the Okanagan. Hopefully get a good season of snowboarding in and find a nice little job to save up money. I am hoping to be going back to school for earth and ocean sciences and eventually break into Architecture. I will be starting up a blog that I will hopefully be able to update while back at home about green architecture, sustainable energies, design, art, and plenty more randomness. Time to make a difference and take on change.

Vancouver

~
Well since I was throwing some photos up I figured I would throw up a couple more of Vancity. The sunset shot is taken from the 6th floor at the Park inn hotel and the daytime mountain shot is taken from the 5th floor of the Rainmaker Entertainment building. Hope you enjoy...

Skate Heart

~
For all you skateboarders at heart. Here is a ledge that will probably make you shed tears of happiness. Pretty much after 8-9pm this place dies right down. It's fairly lit but lands on a busy street and if you get in their way these people dont stop.... I scoured the city for a skateshop only to find one that doesnt sell skateboards...

Animation Intro

~
Just working on a new intro to my reel. Still trying to decide if I should finish it off. I figured I might as well throw it up here and see if anyone has anything to say. I usually don't work in a stepped workflow but I wanted to try something new here. I do find that it makes it a rather hard stage sometimes taking it from stepped to spline. I find lots of the time computer decisions become a hazard and the timing really isn't noticeable until you start taking it into linear or spline. You really start to see what you need to hold, speed up, slow down etc. Fire Away.

South America

~
Well I guess it could be thought of as a new beginning. Trying to rekindle that spark that was apparently lost. I have had the summer off and have been doing a little thinking in the Okanagan and ended up on my way down to Argentina. Mesmerized by the architecture littered throughout Beunos Aires. I couldn't help myself but staring. Always disappointed when I get the photos back onto the computer but I at least think I came out with a couple half decent ones.

Even a wander through the cities graveyard leaves you speechless. Entire days spent wandering and still seeing new things.

Iguazu Falls. The river that slices between Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina rushes onward. You can sense the power of nature while standing in such a peaceful awe. This place was so incredibly busy you could barely walk. I somehow managed to get some shots without many people in them. A terrible task it was.

Looking to the sky in Plaza San Martin in Beunos Aires provided this amazing canopy. Reminds me of a topography map or something. Just interesting to see that the trees leave each other alone...

Down over the murky waters of the Mujeres river ( river of women ) just on the skirts of town lies this amazingly bold bridge. There are usually lights that light up the suspension cables but they have been doing much energy conservation throughout the city and I guess that was one of the cutbacks. I hope you enjoy.

Screaming down the coastal highway of Uruguay in a rented Toyota. Embarking from Montevideo and heading northeast. A great weekend in the winter windy weather.

Its hard to choose just a few pictures to express the area but I hope you enjoyed them. I will definitely be going back but I think next time I might take a winter vacation and escape to the sun. There are plenty more pictures in the archives and if anyone feels like seeing more feel free to get in touch...
